Aurukun Clean Up Australia Day was held on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
A good crowd of 30 people attended.
A large amount of rubbish was collected, approx. 2 tonnes, from around the township area.
Going forward, Council looks forward to reduced rubbish being left in the streets and public areas.
We hope all residents will do the right thing in the future.
Sausage sizzle and cold water were the order of the day and provided by Aurukun Shire Council.
Special thanks were given to Linda Sivyer who was again the Coordinator of this community event and to the Mayor and 8 Aurukun Shire Council employees who participated in the Clean Up Australia Day.
